News: Upgraded Mail Services
Article #8 posted 2004-09-20 by Stephen Olesen

We have fully upgraded our mail servers at NetMonks. The new versions of the software we have used now implement SPF, better RBL checking, full IPv6 support, QMTP support, faster IMAP and POP3 response times, and reduced spam levels from other checks the servers now perform.

This change should be seamless to our users, but if you encounter any difficulties, please contact us and we will help you resolve any problems.

The NetMonks Apache Log Rotator project has been released to the public. This software allows a server administrator to have automatically rotated logs with a single process instead of multiple processes (such as when using cronolog).

The log rotator is designed as a threaded application which you pipe log files into directly from the Apache daemon, it then handles sorting the logs into virtual hosts and date stamping and rotation.

After quite a bit of time and energy has been spent, NetMonks Consulting Corporation has released a new website design with many new features for our customers and the general public.

We now have User Forums available for general discussions and to post articles with regard to common problems and solutions. We also have a Wiki which our clients and the global community can visit to add trouble shooting documentation, specifications, or anything else which seems to fit. The idea behind a Wiki is the ability for anyone to come in and modify documents to update them for the better.

Please explore the new site and let us know if you have any comments, questions or problems.
